Programmes
Three programmes, each with a defined scope and a stated price
No surprises once work begins. Everything within scope is included in the programme rate. Anything outside scope is discussed before it is carried out.
Back to Home01 — Methodology
How each programme is run
Each programme at Fusee Atelier follows the same underlying structure: measure before acting, communicate before committing, document everything, and deliver a written record with the piece. The surface detail of each programme differs — the depth of disassembly, the fabrication required, the timeline — but the framework holds across all three.
Pieces are accepted by appointment. At intake, the owner describes the piece and its history, and the bench records condition at that point. Findings at disassembly are shared before work proceeds. Additional scope, if identified, is quoted and discussed — not carried out and charged after the fact.
Completed work is reviewed against the intake condition before the piece is returned. Where measurements were taken at intake, they are compared with post-work figures. Discrepancies are explained in the written record.
Process — all programmes
- 01Inquiry — describe the piece by phone or message. We confirm which programme applies.
- 02Intake appointment — piece brought to the workshop. Condition recorded. Timeline agreed.
- 03Assessment — disassembly and measurement. Findings shared with owner before work begins.
- 04Approval stages — for dial and conservation work, photographs sent at each decision point.
- 05Completion review — post-work measurements compared with intake figures.
- 06Collection — piece returned with full written service record.
02 — Programme One
Quartz Module Renewal
RM 450 · 3 working days
Battery and gasket replacement, module inspection, coil resistance measurement, hand refitting and a current-draw reading recorded on paper. Written for owners of accurate everyday pieces that have begun to skip or stop. Includes pressure testing to the rated depth, cleaning of the case-back threads, and a note of the module reference in case a future exchange is needed.
What is included
- Battery replacement with quality cell
- Gasket inspection and replacement where needed
- Coil resistance measurement, current-draw reading logged
- Hand refitting and alignment check
- Pressure test to manufacturer's rated depth
- Case-back threads cleaned
- Module reference noted in service record
03 — Programme Two
Dial Restoration
RM 1,900 · 4–6 weeks
Careful stabilisation of lifting paint, removal of surface grime without disturbing patina, index reseating, and hand relume matched by tone rather than brightness. Suited to owners who want the dial to read as its age rather than as new. The owner approves a photographed sample panel before any irreversible step, and a written record of each decision accompanies the finished piece.
What is included
- Stabilisation of lifting lacquer and paint
- Surface grime removal — patina preserved
- Index reseating where loose
- Lume application tone-matched to surviving indices
- Photographed approval at each irreversible step
- Written record of all decisions with piece
04 — Programme Three
Pocket Watch Conservation
RM 4,200 · 10–14 weeks
A conservation-led programme for key-wind, lever and fusee pocket watches, covering movement rebuilding, in-house fabrication of missing steel work, case hinge and bow repair, and glass replacement to period profile. Intended for pieces held by families rather than collectors. Delivered with a photographic record, a provenance and parts sheet, and a written note on which interventions can be undone by a later hand.
What is included
- Full movement disassembly, cleaning and rebuilding
- In-house fabrication of missing steel components
- Case hinge and bow repair
- Glass replacement to period profile
- Photographic record of all stages
- Provenance and parts sheet
- Reversibility notes in written record

07 — Standards
Protocols shared across all programmes
Measurement before action
Condition and functional figures recorded at intake and compared with post-work results before collection.
Client information privacy
Owner contact details and piece history held on paper within the workshop. Not shared with third parties.
Written record with every piece
Every completed job carries a paper record. Conservation work includes provenance notes and reversibility guidance.
Early communication on timing
If bench circumstances change, owners are contacted before the stated completion date — not on it.
No undisclosed charges
Work outside programme scope is quoted and approved before it is carried out. Programme rates are firm.
Safe storage during programme
Pieces are kept on a closed bench during the programme period. No component is left unaccounted for.
